SEEPFERDCHEN tells the story of Hanan Saeed Abdo, a young woman from Wolfsburg, who at the age of 13 had to cross the Mediterranean Sea with her family in an inflatable boat and almost drowned because she could not swim. In a swimming course run by the Wolfsburg "Refugee Aid", she confronted her fear of water stemming from this experience and even trained to become a swimming instructor.
