What is female? What is male? Who determines whether you are one or the other? Can you be both and does it actually even matter? The film follows two intersexual people in South Africa who were born with both male and female sexual characteristics. A beauty queen and a "male-presenting activist" break the taboo of intersexuality by allowing an intimate, touching, but also humorous look into their lives. A constant battle against misunderstandings, prejudices, cultural norms and for their own identity. An important film that provides an insight into a previously rarely addressed topic that personally affects an estimated two per cent of the world's population.
