Geophysicist Sergey Zimov and his son collect cold-resistant big game species in order to settle them in faraway Siberia and release them into the wild. Their PLEISTOCENE PARK project is the life work of Zimov, who published already 15 years ago that Arctic soils store about twice as much carbon dioxide as the Earth's atmosphere. The goal is to create an ice-age steppe landscape that is able to insulate the underlying permafrost. The film is a successful mixture of conveying scientific background, breathtaking scenery shots and an entertaining portrait of adversities and obstacles in this strange endeavour.

Director's Biography:Cultural anthropologist Luke Griswold-Tergis has made two feature-length documentaries. He both directed and produced them. His current work took eight years to complete.
