The aspiring interpreter Mascha (Aylin Tezel) is ambitious and passionate. She lives here and now - from which she carefully excludes her past. Her family is Jewish, her first language Russian, her citizenship German. But none of this is relevant, because Mascha feels at home with her boyfriend Elias. When something happens to Elias, however, she loses what she thought was a secure hold. Mascha no longer knows where she belongs and flees from the pain.
