AUSTELLUNG: STARS OHNE GLAMOUR. LETTE VALESKA – EINE BRAUNSCHWEIGER FOTOGRAFIN IN HOLLYWOOD
(orig. )
The Städtisches Museum Braunschweig (City Museum of Braunschweig) is showing a comprehensive exhibition on the photographer Lette Valeska (Braunschweig 1885-1985 Los Angeles) in the Haus am Löwenwall until 7 January 2024. She succeeded in portraying world-famous Hollywood stars as "natural" persons without grand poses. At the centre of the exhibition are Lette Valeska's photographs of Hollywood stars, which are in the possession of the artist's descendants and are being shown in Germany for the first time.
With the help of personal documents from her estate, the artist's eventful life is also presented. A third section of the exhibition presents selected star photos from an important private collection in Cologne, which underline the uniqueness of Lette Valeska's art.
Visitors of the Braunschweig International Film Festival will be granted a reduced entrance fee (€2.50) for the duration of the film festival upon presentation of a festival ticket.
