Rivers are among the most endangered environmental compartments on earth. Climate change, drought, dams and pollution have turned fascinating ecosystems into dead channels and cesspools. Citizens' groups around the globe are engaged, sometimes supported by companies, in politically articulating the importance of rivers and protecting flowing waters - with great ideas, high commitment and even the idea of granting rivers the same legal positions as people and companies. Disturbing but also encouraging images from Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Albania and Canada, where the Magpie River is now already a legal entity. Definitely worth watching!
