In the anniversary year of Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849), the master of the macabre, the BIFF presents a programme of four silent films, musically interpreted by two students of the sound art class of the HBK Braunschweig. The starting point is the seven-minute EDGAR ALLAN POE (1909) by film pioneer D.W. Griffith. The transgressive power of the cinematographic adoption of Poe's work is revealed in the fascinating and delirious images of three experimental films, each about 13 minutes long. Director's Biography:Jakob Gardemann & Christoph Seelinger:

They met each other in the HBK-Sound Art course by Prof. Ulrich Eller. Gardemann acquired there his Diploma of Free Arts there. Seelinger is a PhD student at the TU under Prof. Jan Röhnert on real death scenes in fictional films.
