Jürgen Baldiga: „I shoot a photo. I photograph the world. I exist.” In the 1990s, the AIDS epidemic is reaching a climax that no one had expected. The Berlin photographer Baldiga is fighting the HI-Virus. Whole circles of friends disappear, and with them their stories get lost. His friends' death as well as his own in near sight Baldiga becomes one of his times chronist by giving a vital visibility to the dying. A quarter of a century later director Jasco Viefhues meets up with Baldiga’s companions such as Michael Brynntrup (HBK Braunschweig). The supporting movie AIDE MÉMOIRE is Brynntrup’s contribution to Baldiga’s farewell work.

Director's Biography:Professor Michael Brynntrup (Braunschweig University of Art)The video artist works at the HBK Braunschweig as lecturer for film/video since 2006. In his work he often deals with life and death - so it is the case with his unconvential short film in conversation with Jürgen Baldiga, who is with AIDS.
