Dealing with transience and age shapes my relationship with the small mountain town where I grew up. The doors to various places that were once my home are now closed to me. But in addition to concrete memories, smells, sounds and emotional connections forever tie me to each place. Before I set out to film, I never knew whether decay, change or stagnation awaited me compared to before. As someone who has experienced many moves, I sometimes feel very old at 28 years old. Many places of my childhood have decayed and exist only within me. I now question why I wish so much to be able to hold on to the past by standing still. Whether it would not be better to let go of it in order to be able to move on and grow. It's about acknowledging impermanence. Can nostalgia be selfish if it doesn't allow change?
