A man aged about forty, in search of himself, possessing a decent portion of self-irony, describes in a few words what ”WINTER GUEST” is about. The result is an enchanting road movie, filmed in black and white, somewhere between a feature film and a documentary: Due to a real creative crisis, a film student from Zurich (played by co-producer Andy Herzog) takes a job as a tester of youth hostels His lonely journey through a grey Switzerland in winter resembles a modern odyssey. At the same time, the protagonist tries desperately to continue writing his screenplay and to save his relationship with his long-term girlfriend, whose biological clock is ticking...
