Director Morris Engel, a pioneer of independent film, tells of the life of a photographer couple like the one he led with his wife Ruth Orkin in this New York film that is as romantic as it is realistic. A pioneer of the handheld camera, Engel is considered a decisive influence on the French Nouvelle Vague.
