VIENNA CALLING catapults us directly into the subcultural heart of the Austrian capital. Away from the mainstream, we get to know Viennese musicians and artists: Der Nino aus Wien, Lydia Haider, Esra Özmen, Gutlauninger and Voodoo Jürgens show us their city, their music, their lives. They are non-conformist, bizarre characters - and fill concert halls from Vienna to Hamburg. Falco would be proud of them. VIENNA CALLING is not a music documentary in the classical sense and certainly not a history lesson about Austrian music of the modern era, but an entertaining docu-musical.

Director's Biography:Philipp Jedicke (*1977 in Kehl am Rhein) currently lives in Cologne after stations in Canada and France. He works as a freelance journalist and post-production manager for various formats. His focus is on the topics of music and culture.
