In the Bolivian highlands at 4,200 metres altitude, an old Quechua couple lives in a hut without electricity or running water. Behind them lies a happy life breeding llamas and growing vegetables. But the rain fails to come, climate change has arrived here too. Their grandson comes and urges his grandparents to move in with the family in the city. But the two old people do not want to. In UTAMA, conflicts between generations and genders as well as between traditions and the modern world are sensitively negotiated. We see a tender love story in a breathtaking landscape. Since winning the main prize at Sundance, the film has been touring many festivals worldwide.
