Still living with his mother, 30-year-old single Ah Bee swaps his rat-race office job for that of a Happiness representative in the social club of Singapore's Tiong Bahru district. There, not only the residents but also the employees are brought to maximum happiness by means of state-of-the-art data evaluation. But Ah's assigned care case tries to make his job as difficult as possible. Or rather to open his eyes to real life? Subversively satirical, retro-futuristic comedy that ponders the pursuit of happiness with Kraftwerk-inspired robot-pop aesthetics (and whether we really need artificial intelligence to achieve it).

Director's Biography:Tan Bee Thiam is a Berlinale Talents alumnus and has produced many festival-winning films. From 2014 to 2017, he curated the films of the Singapore International Festival of Arts. Now he also makes an impression as a director.
