THE WALK is based on an extraordinary artistic project. In 2021, the Good Chance Theatre is touring Europe with a three-meter-tall puppet named Amal (Arabic for hope) to raise awareness of the plight of unaccompanied young refugees. The film follows this journey with many impressive encounters, from Turkey to England. Amal, a 10-year-old girl, is in search of safety and a place where she feels welcome. Interwoven with the escape story of Asil, a 10-year-old Syrian girl who has lost her family and her home, Amal is given a voice. A deeply touching, poetic film, sensitively realized.
