THE WALK is based on an extraordinary artistic project. In 2021, the Good Chance Theatre travels through Europe with a three-metre-tall puppet named Amal (Arabic for hope) to raise awareness of the plight of unaccompanied young refugees. The film follows this journey with many impressive encounters, from Turkey to England. Amal, a 10-year-old girl, is in search of safety and a place where she feels welcome. Interwoven with the escape story of Asil, a 10-year-old Syrian girl who has lost her family and her home, Amal is given a voice. A deeply touching, poetic film, sensitively realised.

Director's Biography:Tamara Kotevska is the Oscar®-nominated director of HONEYLAND, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, winning the Grand Jury Prize and Special Jury Award for Impact for Change.
