When a mother-daughter duo from the war zone of Aleppo is shaken by a tragedy, it triggers a chain reaction that inadvertently intertwines their fates with those of five other families within a story that spans four different countries. Andersen divides his film into five chapters, giving the impression that these are five different short films. In this way, the activist director explores the various facets of fleeing from a war zone. He also manages to address this topic without placing the blame on a single party. Instead, he presents the audience with human stories of resilience, despair and survival in order for them to form their own judgement. By exposing the plight of the refugees, the film confronts its audience members and almost challenges them to look away.
