In September 2022, the vice squad arrest a Tehran woman because her headscarf does not fit properly. A short time later, she dies as a result of police violence. Nationwide protests against the regime erupt. Protests that also take place in Iman’s street. He has just moved into a larger apartment with his wife and daughters. A lawyer, he has risen through the ranks and is now a judge at the Revolutionary Court. His new post means more money, but also closer connections to the regime. During the protests, he is asked to sign off death sentences. At the same time, his daughters support the protest. The fear of the regime inevitably creeps into Iman’s home and he becomes increasingly paranoid.

Director's Biography:Born in Iran in 1973, sociologist and filmmaker Mohammad Rasoulof is a particularly vocal critic of the theocratic regime. He has been repeatedly banned from working and served time in prison. He fled Iran in May 2024.
