Road trip through Colombia: a retired musician lives his quiet, simple life on a remote coast. When his much younger half-sister unexpectedly knocks on his hut because their father has died, the two set off on a long journey to the capital Bogotá to look for their mother. They are joined by another young, proud man who dreams of becoming a boxer. Since the gang doesn't even have money for the bus, it becomes a long and adventurous trip, during which we get to see a lot of Colombia's beautiful landscape, its people, traditions and conflicts. This finely observant debut film is touching. 

Director's Biography:Joan Gómez Endara is a Colombian director, producer and founding partner of a film production company. THE RED TREE is his feature film debut, which received numerous awards already in the development phase.
