The young Pole, Ewa, arrives on Ellis Island in 1921, gets separated from her sister Magda, and ends up accepting the help of a mysterious man called Bruno. However, he forces her into prostitution. Bruno’s cousin Orlando gives her new hope of a better life, but Bruno is jealous and wants his revenge.
