“Where people sing, you should settle down, because bad people have no songs.” The centre of this bliss is a luxurious bunker. Here, a rich industrialist family sings exuberantly - and has been doing so for 20 years. This is how long the family has been living here, going about their routines and distracting themselves from the world beyond the bunker. Because outside the door, nature is contaminated and dead. Well, their own prosperity appears to have facilitated the end of the world, but there is always something. And nobody should burden themselves with this guilt unnecessarily. One day, the beloved routines are disrupted. There’s a knock at the door! Director's Biography:Joshua Oppenheimer, born in Austin in 1974, studied film at Harvard and London. He was a jury member at the Venice Film Festival in 2016 and Sundance in 2021. So far, the director has focussed on documentaries, for which he has received Oscar nominations.
