The British doc drama with Pete Postlethwaite as archivist of human legacies in 2055 manages the impossible: to depict the climate catastrophe, hardly perceivable by human time-criteria, such that it evokes similar anxieties as to other environmental catastrophes. Fascinating but also alarming, the film makes almost exclusive use of available documentary material from the present. The premiere took place in 2009 in a PV-powered tent in London and had only 1% of the CO² emission of a usual big film premiere. The N.Y. Times described the film as more serious and agitating than Al Gore`s ”An Inconvenient Truth” and is rich in black humour.
