The sixteen-year-old Ari is sent back to his father and grandmother against his will from Iceland`s capital Reykjavik to the harsh north of the island. He has difficulty integrating inton the rather simple secluded life in the fissured west fjords where the financial crisis of the country is particularly noticeable and has also afflicted his father. But then he meets up with his former school girlfriend Làra ... a bitter-sweet coming of age-story and realistic drama, which does not mince matters in front of the camera.
