Count Orlok wants to buy a beautiful, deserted house in the small town of Wisborg in Northern Germany. Estate agent Hutter travels to the Carpathian Mountains in order to conclude the contract. The count falls in love with the beautiful Ellen, Hutter’s fiancée, and brings terror to the town of Wisborg. NOSFERATU (1922) is the classic horror film par excellence. Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau’s groundbreaking - but unauthorised - adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel “Dracula” is a journey into the subconscious, into the realm of hidden fears and desires - a journey that is as beautiful as it is eerie. Richard Siedhoff interprets NOSFERATU on the organ in the Gothic Petrikirche (church of Saint Petri).
Prof. Dr. Michael Grisko (Managing Director of the Richard Borek Foundation, university professor, publicist and curator) will give an introduction to the film before the concert begins.
The silent film concert is sponsored by the Richard Borek Foundation.
