The festival is a unique possibility to discover short films that you do not run into that easily. For this year’s Braunschweig International Film Festival, the new short film jury has compiled a remarkable assortment of recent short film productions: Awarded short films and premiers are components of the thoroughly arranged programs. The series deals with the blooming scene of contemporary movie production, which, with much creativity, explores new cinematic worlds. Short films make room for outstanding aesthetic experiments and modes of narration. In each program, there are shorts of varying genre to cherish the technical range of film making. Thematic emphases, however, construct leitmotifs for each particular program. Each compilation evokes an intensive and condensed atmosphere. Exemplary, with a focus on music and film, living environments, conflicts while growing up or references to the world of media and recent societal topics, pictorial and content-wise foci are developed in these particular programs.
