MC Rene – a pioneer of German hip hop. In the documentary ANOMALIE, the Braunschweig native takes us through the streets of his childhood. He tells us about euphoria and turmoil, friendship and self-efficacy and about the beginnings of hip hop in the youth centres of the Republic. Here, the teenager René El Khazraje found a refuge and access to the scene. In black and white images and to the beats of MC René's congenial partner Figub Brazlevič, one thing above all becomes clear: the great love for hip hop in all its facets.
