Psychotherapist Ruben Brandt is haunted by the characters of famous paintings from art history in his nightmares; Botticelli's Aphrodite attacks him as an aggressive octopus monster, Warhol's double Elvis forces him into a gun duel. To regain his peace of mind, Brandt hires a gang to steal the 13 masterpieces. The animated crime adventure takes us around the globe. Louvre, Hermitage, MoMA: The "art collectors" break in everywhere with virtuosity, hunted by bounty hunters and private detectives. RUBEN BRANDT is peppered with references to film, art and pop culture - humorous, surreal, audiovisually breathtaking. "Grandiose animated film for adults." (DLF Kultur)
