Don Tavel develops an unusual synthesiser, the Resynator. In 1988, Don dies in a car accident shortly after the birth of his daughter, Alison, who grows up hearing mythical stories about her father. In 2014, she discovers a prototype in her grandmother’s attic. A journey now begins for Alison: A journey on which she not only succeeds in bringing the Resynator back to life, but also establishes a posthumous personal bond with her father. The highlight is Alison’s encounter with Peter Gabriel, who once bought three Resynators from Don. Peter provides Alison with an important piece of advice for her path in life. The audience at the 2024 SXSW Film Festival was deeply moved by RESYNATOR and awarded it the Documentary Feature Audience Award.

Director's Biography:Alison Tavel was born in 1988. She worked as a music coordinator for television and as a tour assistant for the rock musician Grace Potter. In 2014, Tavel began her search for the Resynator. This developed into her directorial debut RESYNATOR.
