2014. Serhiy, a Ukrainian surgeon, decides to go to the Donetsk region to help the victims of the crisis. In the course of his mission, he is captured and has to take care of the separatists' torture victims. After a forced video confession, he is released through a prisoner exchange and suddenly has to sort himself back into his normal, modern life and tries to find redemption.

Already at the beginning, the turmoil of the situation in Ukraine becomes clear. Through the stringent aesthetics, one can literally grasp the despair at the senselessness, but the film always achieves an appropriate balance between distance and closeness.

Director's Biography:Born in Zhytomyr, Valentyn Vasyanovych studied at the National I. K. Karpenko-Kary University of Theatre, Cinema and Television in Kyiv and at the Andrzej Wajda Master School of Film Direction in Warsaw. His films have already been invited to many festivals.
