Sweden 2017: A family of Russian origin with two children line up dutifully in their monitored flat. The doorbell rings, the immigration authorities have arrived; political asylum has been applied for but rejected. The family has ten days to present evidence of political persecution. This could be proven by the youngest daughter, but she simply collapses and is admitted to hospital. The already tense situation escalates into a nightmare... Strictly composed images, minimalist music. A psychological thriller that could be true and perhaps even is? Fact: Since 1998, many children and young people have been suffering from “child resignation syndrome”.

Director's Biography:Born in Greece in 1977, Alexandros Avranos received the Silver Lion for MISS VIOLENCE 2013. He studied sculpture in Athens, at the University of the Arts in Berlin and with the famous British sculptor Tony Cragg.
