New International Cinema

As in previous years, the New International Cinema invites us to go on cinematic journeys and make plenty of discoveries along the way. These journeys will take us to unexpected places such as a village school in Bhutan, the sun-baked Andalusia of 1946, a whimsical shared house at the edge of the Californian desert, or the violent drug milieu in Iran. We will learn about the yearning for freedom and dignity in face of the bitter realities in Communist Czechoslovakia, about the day-to-day abuse in a French ski school and about the dramatic search for disappeared relatives, captured as slave labourers in the Amazon rainforest in Brazil.
