This film won the Grand Prize of the jury in the Orizzonti section in Venice this year and tells a bizarre and sensuous story from North-East Brazil. Vaquejada is a traditional form of the rodeo there. In the milieu of this dangerous and cruel sport lives the attractive Iremar who looks after his animals with total commitment. Secretly he dreams however about patterns, sequins and fabrics which, in his thoughts, he assembles into exotic costumes for female dancers. His life is determined though by the other members of the mobile show troupe, including Galaga his boss, and her little daughter. A film full of surreal beauty.
