On Christmas Eve 1944, the opera singer Nelly Mousset-Vos and Nadine Hwang, resistance fighter and one of the first Chinese female pilots, meet in Ravensbrück. After the liberation from the concentration camp and a short separation, they spend the rest of their lives together. Decades later, Nelly's granddaughter goes in search of clues. The love and life stories of the two women, reconstructed from diary entries, photos and Super 8 film footage, lead us through the queer scene of the 1930s in Paris, post-war Latin America and back to present-day Europe. "Pure Hollywood," says director Magnus Gertten, "except that no one makes a film out of the material."

Director's Biography:Magnus Gertten, born in Limhamn, Sweden in 1953, now lives and works in Malmö. After an early career as a rock musician for the band SIEBEN SLIPS and as a TV and radio journalist, he has been making documentary films since 1998.
