Alex Gibney tells the story, with thrilling concert excerpts and current interviews, of Brown`s rise from the poorest circumstances to the at times tyrannical and contradictory star. For many he discovered Funk and his Beats were used later as samples for Hip Hop. This highly praised documentary film was given the Black Reel Award, as well as other awards.
