The director succeeds to create a film which is at the same time deeply serious and admirably easy. The film as well as the main actress Kalki Koechlin, who is one of the most famous actresses in India, have already won numerous international film prizes. The young student Laila Kapoor bristles with lust for life and activity. Still, the secret and romantic rebell depends on a wheelchair due to a cerebral palsy. She is being granted a stipendium in New York and discovers life and love.
