The "Mama Bears" are a network of over 30,000 US mothers who see themselves as Christian and conservative and yet fight with all their might for the acceptance and rights of their and other LGBTQI+ children. The film follows two mothers in their conflict of having to choose between their fundamentalist church communities and their children, as well as a lesbian woman on her journey through rejection and shame to self-acceptance and resistance. An intimate collage of touching and private insights that reveal the complexities of politics, religion, faith and unconditional love.
