Brilliant, megalomaniac, unfeasible: these are just some of the words used to describe the gigantic opera cycle LICHT, the oeuvre of the legendary and controversial composer Karlheinz Stockhausen. Brilliant, megalomaniac and unapproachable is how the composer himself appears to us. Along the preparations for the premiere of this cycle, directed by Pierre Audi, the film traverses a field of tension between conservation and reinterpretation, a field of tension between ego, lover and father. The monument Stockhausen is polished in parts. And through this, the human being Karlheinz becomes more tangible.
