Ruben is a homosexual, Jewish mailman from Paris. He lives a paradisaical fairy-tale with his husband Teemu in the Finnish hamlet Oulu. Friendly, ever smiling residents and snugly-cuddly sex in the morning inclusive. The rose-colored idyll with lakeside view shatters when Ruben is suspected of mail robbery. Carmen Maura is a mother on the brink of a nervous breakdown in a flashy comedy reminiscent of the young Pedro Almodóvar. The Freiburg Gay Film Festival on this nominee for the HEINRICH in 2011: “Best entertainment, guaranteed!” LET MY PEOPLE GO won the Audience Award at the Philadelphia International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival.
