Just 6.5 refers to the number of drug addicts in Iran, a number that continues to rise due to the country’s structural dysfunction of the police force and despite the impending death penalty for drug dealing. Samad, a task force member of the police’s anti-narcotics unit, searches for the drug-lord Nasser Khakzad. A suspenseful cop thriller, tough, violent, and apparently close to reality, with deep insights into the drug scene, the country’s prisons, and police milieu. The many extras of the film are said to be real drug consumers – their ravaged faces show the disastrous effects of drug addiction. The film broke box office records at home in Iran.
German premiere.
