Cécile de France was so captivated by the script of this psychological thriller that she read it through in one sitting. She plays Marie, who visits her friend's family living in the countryside. The omnipresent evil sets its sights on her and the family. Torments, feigns brutal violence, lets blood flow from the many wounds of the many victims. Screams fall silent. Disturbing, pure fear. This film is also exciting cinematic art of physicality. Cécile de France's origins lie in the theatre, where stage presence always takes place through one's own body. This is what attracts her to this film, in which she says she portrays her character "more with [her] body than with [her] head".
