This poignant film tells of the struggle of two young Tunisian women, Zeinab and Aicha, striving to achieve the same kind of emancipation enjoyed by the male population of their country – even as the revolution rages. Their successes and setbacks are a metaphor for all the uncertainties in Tunisia’s political future.
Nouri Bouzid
The important Tunisian director was born 1945 in Sfax and studied film in Brussels. Back in Tunisia he worked for tunisian televison. Because of the expression of a political opinion and it's membership of the radical group Perspectives he was in prison for five years (1973-1979).
