For seven years now, the section “Heimspiel” (Home Match) is an integral part of our Braunschweig Film Festival. Over time, it has thrived and prospered. As viewers, we are always pleased to see well-known names, faces and places. This is exactly what “Heimspiel” wants to be: familiar and local – somehow personal. Our first online-edition demonstrates once more the cinematic wealth of our region: from interesting locations such as the Harz mountains, Gifhorn and Braunschweig, to musicians and composers who work in film, and, of course, directors and actors from our South-Eastern Lower Saxony region. This year, we feel that our section “Heimspiel” has come of age. But no matter how mature, it will always be: familiar and local – somehow personal.
