HBK Braunschweig
COURSE BRYNNTRUP It has become a tradition to screen recent film and video work from the local University of Art (HBK) in its own special programme at the Braunschweig International Film Festival. Since 1972 there has been a special film as – fine – arts course on offer at the school. All manner of films are made and encouraged, including experimental, documentary, animated and narrative works, as well as now popular video and multi-media installations and internet art. The common element to all these projects is a personal, individual vision, free of all censorship and commercial pressures. In a second program the class presents its projects CHEUN DALOU and KALBE. COURSE SCHNITT I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing. Geraldine Oetken and Mi Rang Park present some of their videos on megalomania, family stories, memories, evil thoughts, travel and love. Both artists are this year’s graduates of the Braunschweig University of Art (HBK) and master students of Prof. Corinna Schnitt. INSTITUTE FOR MEDIA RESEARCH At the IMF (Institute for Media Research) of the HBK Braunschweig, media art, media design and media studies come together. Here, a big emphasis lies on learning by doing. The results often are short movies: 2D or 3D animated films, live action movies or a combination of both. Sometimes funny, sometimes inspiring, other time experimental. With a selection of student works of the last year, we present an exciting crosssection by the future creative generation of Braunschweig.
