GONDOLA is a poetic love story about two cable-car conductors, Iva and Nina, set in the Georgian mountains. While one gondola goes up to the village, the other goes down towards the valley. At the halfway point, the gondolas meet. This is the moment when Iva and Nina see each other. Whilst at first they merely exchange collegial greetings, an imaginative flirtation then develops. Thanks to its enchanting visual language and sophisticated sound design, Veit Helmer's film manages entirely without dialogue. A distinctly cheerful and wonderful fairy tale that guarantees a delightful cinematic experience.
