Since the death of her husband, Corine exists between memories and the present. To escape her numbness, she accepts an assignment for a report on shamanism. She travels through Mongolia and is able to participate in the rituals of the nomads. During this time, she feels a closeness to her husband. Back in France, she is unable to let go of the experience. She returns to the steppe and begins to train as a shaman. An intense, kitsch-free film adaptation of the book "Mon initiation chez les Chamanes " by Corine Sombrun. Cécile de France endows her self-confident character with an ambivalent personality that threatens to suffocate with grief and, at the same time, explores spiritualism with both openness and scepticism.
Director's Biography:Fabienne Berthaud found her way to becoming a writer and director through her work as an actress in television productions. She directed the film version of her novel LILY SOMETIMES. She received the CICAE prize for this in Cannes.
