Together with its Czech counterpart Šumava, the Bavarian Forest National Park forms the largest connected and protected forest area in Central Europe. In the Bavarian Forest, the motto is "let nature be nature". The film is more than just a sensual and beautifully filmed journey through a nature reserve. Director Lisa Eder takes a clear stand on current issues and problems, be it the great spruce dieback or the return of the wolves. The film also looks at the difficulty of the human species to simply not intervene, to sit back and watch what nature does - in other words: to let nature be nature.
