Also this year, the Braunschweig International Film Festival awards »DER HEINRICH« to an outstanding European production for the best debut or second movie. This sought-after trophy comes with 10.000 euros of prize money, is founded by Volkswagen Financial Services and shared between direction and distribution. Ten feature films from nine different countries compete, eight of those will be German premieres, which were picked from a big selection of movies: red-hot, exciting and innovative cinema made in Europe. What is it about? What is of interest to rising filmmakers nowadays? Strikingly frequent in the focus of those stories are adolescents, who have to fend for themselves. Young people who flail around, young adults in a global, uncertain world stuck between stagnancy and awakening ... Individually and creatively implemented into a biting thriller (THE HEROES OF EVIL), subtle comedy (PIKADERO) or in neo-noir fashion (STILL). One can be very curios! The public award presentation ceremony will be on Sunday, November the 8th at the Staatstheater (state theater). The winner will be shown again at the C1 Cinema. Vote, the decision is yours!
