Count Dracula needs fresh blood. The blood of a virgin. As there are no untouched maidens in his homeland, he is drawn to Italy, with his coffin in his luggage. Here he becomes acquainted with an impoverished noble couple who live in a villa with their enchanting daughters. Standing between the count and the redemptive bite is, however, the servant of the house, who eyes Dracula suspiciously. Following the completion of his horror work ANDY WARHOL’S FRANKENSTEIN, Paul Morrissey staged this profoundly depraved shocker in Warhol’s “Factory” studio, again starring Udo Kier and Joe Dallessandro in the leading roles. Stefania Casini (SUSPIRIA), the great Vittorio De Sica (BICYCLE THIEVES) and even Roman Polanski (THE FEARLESS VAMPIRE KILLERS) all played their part.
Director's Biography:Paul Morrissey (born 1938 in New York) is an American film director who became known for his film productions for Andy Warhol. He is considered the discoverer of the music group THE VELVET UNDERGROUND and the “right-hand man” of pop artist Warhol.
