BIFF TALKS: DIVERSITÄT IN DEUTSCHEN FILMEN
(orig. )
Language:German90 min
Are we in a revolution? In recent years, awareness of the lack of justice within our diverse society has been increasingly brought into focus. The (survival) struggles of marginalised people - which inevitably take place due to structural discrimination and are psychologically and physically stressful - have not yet been won. Racism, queer hostility and discrimination in general are still part of everyday life for many (film-making) people. Accordingly, there is still much to be done in terms of power distribution and representation, both in front of and behind the cinema and television cameras. Often, "diversity" is seen as a mere ticking off of certain numbers and quotas in order to improve images or external representation. So what structural changes are needed? Who tells which stories? What best practice examples already exist? How can the "new implicitness" (Tucké Royale) continue to take hold? In cooperation with the Association for Sexual Emancipation and the Creative Europe Desk Hamburg. This project was reviewed by DisCheck (https://www.instagram.com/discheck_/?hl=de). The collective for all those who want to make their media content discrimination-sensitive and intersectional.
