1976: A naively shy British sound engineer (Toby Jones) is recruited to work on the post-production of an Italian horror film. Peter Strickland deliberately omits showing the film-within-a-film horror on his aural descent into the dark depths of Italian genre cinema. Director, lead actor and sound designer won at the British Independent Film Awards 2012.
